Among all the heavily edited and crafted images on Instagram, one can almost immediately tell that sloppily-edited images are memes. It’s almost as if the worse the cropping and the worse the resolution, the funnier it is. Sloppy photo editing is not necessarily bad; it ultimately comes down to the cohesiveness of the editing with the intended response of the content. After all, memes are often about self-deprecating issues.
