Gestalt Principles in Logo Design

Learning about the use of closure in the Fedex Logo made me curious about how other brands have used Gestalt principles in their logos, and why a brand would want to use Gestalt principles in their logo. I learned that using Gestalt principles in a logo can help the elements of a design seem more cohesive and “as one” rather than separate elements fighting for a customer’s attention. This makes sense as the main idea of Gestalt theory is that we look at the whole as the sum of its parts. Even when the parts are entirely separate our brains try to group them as a whole.
